These little purses were so fun to make. Each one probably took me about an hour. I was nervous about the zipper and the embroidery stitches so close to each other, but the pattern design accounts for all of this. It was so fun to watch it emerge, step by step. It is one of the things I love about machine embroidery, the machine does the work, I just pick the fabric, choose the thread colors and push the buttons.....so much fun!!!

This sweet little cupcake purse was a hot ticket item at our family reunion raffle this past summer. I thought the little girls would get exited about the cupcakes and the puppy dog-- but the owl, watermelon and the flip flop were also winners. I was overcome by the cuteness! The first cupcake was so adorable I had to make more. This was my first successful machine embroidery project. I am totally hooked!
This pattern is called, "Pocket Purses" by Anita Goodesign. Sewn on cotton fabric with Sulky embroidery thread on my Babylock Ellisimo Embroidery Machine.
The pattern suggests making these little purses with your loved ones, allowing them to pick the colors and the initial design.
My children are older and have interesting phones, so the fun would be lost on them, but a five year old might be as enamored as I am.
